BPR: Do you keep in touch with any of the other models or designers from the show?AF: Of course! Marilinda and I still talk, she is so sweet, and I REALLY wanted her to win! The other girls are cool, if they contact me I will talk to them, or just if I see them around.. but otherwise really just Marilinda - and no - not just because she won!!! I also have made friends with Danielle from season 2!
I also talk to several designers from this season and season 2!! Malan Breton was actually a friend of mine BEFORE Project Runway! Yes, the secret's out! I was a model in his spring 2006 collection! We continue to talk and I was in his Spring 2007 show in NY Fashion Week! Now there are talks of a campaign for him... but that is only in the thinking stages. I still talk to Alison, Jeffrey, Michael, Uli, (I would talk to Laura, but I don't have her number!), Kayne (and his partner Warren), Katherine.I recently ran into Angela here in LA. I would pretty much talk to any of them, they are all amazing.
I am friends with Nick Verreos from season 2 (and his partner David). They have been nothing but nice to me, and since I have been in LA, I have seen Nick 4 times.. which you know is good because we are both really busy! I even went fabric shopping with him and David! THAT was an experience. They were deciding which fabric to use as panels on their windows of their new showroom! Nick wanted polka-dots, David said no - something solid would work better. I went with the solid too.. sorry Nick! :)
BPR: What was your favorite of all the dresses you wore on the show?
AF: By far, the Marilyn dress. It fit me amazingly and made it easy for me to get into her character.
BPR: Let's talk about the "Waste Not" look! What were they thinking? Whose idea was that hair and make-up? What do you think when you see it now?
AF: It was all Kayne's idea for hair and makeup, and honestly I thought the hair was cool! The Loreal and TRESemme teams really do exactly what the designers have in mind, and work with them on each look. You - or the judges - may or may not like it, but they have executed what the designer wanted perfectly! Those people are geniuses!
BPR: Amanda, you mentioned your boyfriend on PR - did he ever get you that new iPod? : )
AF: Well, no. He got me the shuffle for my birthday because he wanted me to get used to using one, you know, for practice. (Yes, I was still using a discman up until this past May!) He really did intend to get me the newest one when it arrived. We are no longer together! It is so sad, especially because it ended during NY Fashion Week. But I had to "make it work" and "carry on!" (Although it was soooo tough!)
BPR: You looked absolutely beautiful in Malan Breton's Show. What was it like to see Malan again?
AF: Thank you! I mentioned him before, but we were friends before the show and will continue to be friends now! He is a great designer who made 1 misstep on Project Runway, but I really believe in him.

BPR: What is next for Amanda Fields?
AF: I am in a fashion show that will close Mexico Fashion Week on Tuesday - Louis Verdad! (If you fashionistas don't know - Louis Verdad is the biggest designer out in LA - spread the word, he is AMAZING!) I will be filming an instructional haircolor video for Schwarzkopf here in LA. I shot an editorial that should come out in November, maybe December, for Vegas Essential Magazine - I linked you to it earlier! I hope to pursue more acting as well. My goal in the next year is to have a role in another TV show or a film! (I have been approached by "The Bachelor," but I don't think I want to be competing against girls again - maybe if I were the Bachelorette and got to choose my man!!)
Thank you Blogging Project Runway! You guys are the best!!
