Clarissa arrived a few minutes later looking very tall and slender. Her mother was with her and a few other family members too. She is from Milwaukee and returned to model in a local fashion show on 11/3 at the Milwaukee Art Museum ( www.mam.org or the building designed by Calatrava). The owners of Lela Boutique are part of the whole Milwaukee fashion scene, which is how they met and invited Clarissa to appear at their store.
Clarissa and her mother were wearing matching diamond Chanel stud earrings like these. Clarissa was carrying a cute small LV purse. She had on a purple dress covered with a gray cashmere (?) sweater, black tights and some serious black ankle boots.
I had a few questions from Clarissa (thanks BPR team for sending them ahead!) and here's what she said:
1. She doesn't really read much on-line about the show and especially about herself. She did Google herself a few times and was unhappy with what she read so she just doesn't check any more. One website really knocked her about and she was angry and sad about that. (Editor's note: Not BPR of course!)
2. She is in touch with Michael and Angela. She sees a lot of the other models from the show on casting calls and just around NYC.
3. Contrary to everyone thinking that Clarrisa is now an established model and rolling in the money, she is out every day on casting calls. She has a part-time job at a nationally-known retailer and is out on casting calls the rest of the time. She is also in the process of moving closer to the City as she was living a bit out of the way (an hour to get to Parsons).
4. Best and worst thing: worst - reading about herself on the web and finding reports about her inaccurate and hurtful.
Best - being a part of fashion week.
I didn't have a lot of time to spend talking with Clarissa and she was a bit under the weather with a cold. Her mom said that she'd been outside in a sleeveless dress for most of yesterday (40s here in Milwaukee). The price of fashion!
