Most of the models were San Diego locals from No Ties Management modeling agency - aren't they beautiful?
Raymundo Baltazar was at the show - we visited with him a little later.
Let's get on with the story...
We checked in at the desk where Kaitlin was carded because it was for over-21 only. I mention this because I know there are those who wanted to be there and wondered if anyone under 21 could actually get in. The answer is no. They were very definite about it.
Handing out the programs at the door were these four adorable girls from FIDM San Diego. From left to right they are: Makenzie Slauzes, Samantha Kelly, Alysha Molina and Mallorie Coburn. (Thanks Roz!)

We also met Leah, who coordinated the event for the W Hotel.
Kaitlin and I both wore our Kenneth Fron necklaces, of course!

I was warmly welcomed by this lovely woman who introduced herself as David's mom Conchita, who reads BPR every day and recognized me!
Upon entering the venue I immediately realized that the stiletto slingbacks were a mistake. The Sandbar has actual sand on the floor and my heels sunk down and my shoes filled up quickly. Drat. I was barefoot for the rest of the evening.... and not the only one.
I had registered as "Press" and took up a solid position in the center of the press box. I was firmly planted there for at least 30 minutes while waiting for the show to begin. I was not going to budge because I wanted to get great photos for all of you. Well, wouldn't you know it? A great tall gentleman with a giant camera sidled himself directly in front of me about 30 seconds before the show started. I could not believe the nerve of this guy, but I guess that's what "professionals" have to do. Is "sidled" a word?
Thank goodness Roz was there with a MUCH better camera than mine. She got some wonderful shots.
Here are Conchita and Nick's mom Raquel just before the show started.
More to come...
