Her introduction was quite short, basically she told us to follow our own rules when it comes to fashion and not follow the trends. As mentioned by Sylvia, Nina was asked a wide array of questions. Some people asked about fashion, trends and sample sales, while others wanted to know how she got involved in the fashion industry. After a few questions, people started asking her about Project Runway. Someone asked how Elle got involved with the show, and Nina said the show was pitched to them. When someone did ask her when Project Runway season 4 was coming, all she said was that it was coming soon. She said she didn't want to know when it was going to start and even if she did know, she would not be allowed to tell. Later on she said it would be on sometime in November.
After several questions were asked, I finally got the courage to ask her my question. I asked if she was surprised with how Project Runway has taken off and what her favorite season was. Nina (who I swear looks directly at you while answering) said that Season One was her favorite because they were all doing it for the first time. She also said that Project Runway came on at the right time, when basically fashion was in fashion. People wanted to learn more about the industry and how the designers create their collections. Nina also said that she loved Laura Bennett for evening, Uli for summer and Daniel V. Santino was good, but his personality was the the problem, and he didn't listen to anyone's advice.
When it was time to get my book signed I mentioned to her that I go on the blogs, like Blogging Project Runway. She said that she reads BPR and asked me if I read the ones on the Bravo site. I also mentioned how I met Tim Gunn at his book signing, and she was like 'I love Tim Gunn!' I know Sylvia mentioned her outfit, but her shoes (Christian Louboutin) were to die for.
