Emmett had a display of his new shoes, which will be featured in the store come Fall. The designs were quite innovative - mostly heels with very interesting patterns but there was one new "ballet flat" type shoe. (btw: I almost bought a pair of brown "ballet flats" from his previous collection and still may go back for them!) Emmett also had some bags and other items on display from his new line, "Equation". This is the line that will be featured when Emmett appears on QVC this Fall. The bags were really quite interesting and definitely did not stray from the quality of the EMc2 collection.
He also took some time to show us the "backyard" of the store. For anyone who has attended an event at EMc2, this is the space where he normally sets up the "meet and greet" sessions (although, as we both commented, it ALWAYS seems to rain on the day of an EMc2 event!) The "backyard" is no longer bare and a structure has been built that will soon serve as Emmett's design studio! It seems to be the perfect solution as he can be right there at his store and available to customers and still get some work done in the private space!
Fellow PR Season 2 designer Diana Eng also stopped by to pay a visit. It's always nice to see and chat with Diana and she filled us in on her ongoing projects. She is currently working on a book about "fashion technology" and she talked about "smart fabrics" (along the lines of how "Under Armour" works in the fitness industry.) The book sounds really interesting and I can't wait to hear more about it once the book comes out (sometime around October - podcast maybe?? hehe!)
All in all it was a fun night! Great food, great drinks (the white sangria was amazing!) and great bargains (I got a really cute pair of tan/black "flip flops"!) Thanks Emmett - and congrats on all the exciting things that are going on in your world!
