Hello BPR!
Isn't it remarkable that he not only finished his look, but it was his most beautiful work that we, the Project Runway viewers have seen from him. The lace top and white pants fit his model to perfection and the outfit was on trend yet something I could envision wearing for years to come. It also looked expensive. Their whole Military lace team created an amazingly fun collection that spoke of today yet was classic. Teamwork done right is impressive to watch because you can see what the designers can inspire in each other.
Team Luxe was opposite. Being a model in this type of situation can be extremely demanding because you have not only got to model well as always, but also really believe in your clothes to sell them more effectively to the judges. These models really had a huge hurdle to clear and they all impressed me. Cassie had a beautiful smile as she walked out in a look that gave the judges nothing to smile about. Standing on the runway posing for what feels like forever became an even more tedious task, I'm sure, because of the extended judging process.
Season 8's cast of models reminds me a lot of Season 2's girls. Does anyone else see a beautiful resemblance? I liked that, in last week's "Hat's Off" episode the model selection had a twist, yet the designers still picked the girl they wanted as opposed to the hat they wanted. Did the producers foresee this and perhaps gave hats to the contestants in such a way that would challenge them the most? I think they just gave each model the hat that looked the best on them individually.
New York is hot hot hot! Beautiful and bustling, frantic and fantastic. I was just lucky enough to have a little runway class with Mac Folkes who trains new models who are competing in the Ford Supermodel of the World Search, as well as newly signed models repped by New York's best agencies for Fashion Week. When he taught us about proper runway posture, he was considerate enough to come around the room and correct girls. I am proud to say he approved of mine and didn't have to change a thing!
Well, I'm off to yet another casting!
See you next week!
xoxo Amanda
