The Calendar - continued

However in recent seasons the show has been premiering closer and closer to fashion week. In season eight we had only six episodes before the finale was filmed. We barely knew these designers. Of course, starting with a field of 17 didn't help matters.

Although he showed promise, Mondo had not yet won a challenge. When he came out to introduce his collection, there was applause, but not an ovation.

Imagine instead that the audience had watched the entire season. Mondo would have won three challenges in row and the hearts of America. He would have received HUGE support, if not a standing ovation, just in the introduction. Certainly after seeing his collection, the crowd would have gone nuts.

Journalists would have been lined up to interview him. There would be no reason for him to slip away, because without the pretense of the "decoy shows" and concealing who the "real" finalists were, there would be no reason to worry about an accidental revelation.

Mondo certainly would have been the overwhelming crowd favorite. All of the editors and journalists would have wanted to talk to him...and surely even the JUDGES would have noticed.

But this did not happen.

Mondo was robbed of more than a win...and so were we.
