MB: Hi Laura, How are you?
BPR: Malan, will you be showing a collection at Fashion Week in February?
MB: Yes, I am showing a small collection on the 10th actually, on the day of the Chinese New Year. It is a very big celebration this year - celebrating the year of the snake. It is a small collection, but very special. It includes some of my new licenses, which I am very excited about.
BPR: Will you be making anything out of snakeskin?
MB: No, but I am featuring some snake embroidery!
BPR: From symphonies to ballet dancers, your shows are always full of surprises. What can you tell us about this show?
MB: This show has a very strong mid-century American element to it, including involvement from one of the major film studios. That's all I can say about it right now, I'm so sorry. I don't want to give it away.
BPR: Are you living in New York?
MB: As you know I have been traveling between New York and L.A. for the past year. I have just signed a contract to appear in a film with Taylor Negron. I am playing an attorney, a french attorney. I'll keep you posted on that.
BPR: Malan, can you do a french accent? (because naturally I would love hear it!)
MB: Actually I speak french in the film.
BPR: Besides fashion, what else do you enjoy?
MB: I love ballet, I grew up as a dancer and I love performance of any type. I love music. I love collaborating with other creatives. I have a great core of friends.
BPR: Would you every consider appearing on another reality show?
MB: I am actually in talks with a production company about serving in a sort of Michael Kors role. I have also been in talks with another company about a totally new concept.
BPR: Malan, we are almost out of time, is there anything else you would like to say to your fans?
MB: I want to say thank you to all of my fans. I have just topped 490,00 twitter followers in the past week. I wish I could meet each one in person.
BPR: Thank you Malan.
MB: Thank you so much, Laura.
