Like a true artist, Austin talked to me all about the structure, the seaming, the silhouettes and the drapery. He says these are the most important aspects of his pieces. Austin says his last collection, at the Armory which I also attended, was more full and plush and this season brings a sleeker feel which really streamlines his pieces.
With a warmer color palette and wonderful materials such as silk-wool!..."for a cold Ohio Winter Wedding" Austin says...and remember that bubble-gum pink wedding gown that was shown at The Armory? ...well this season we see it in ivory.
| Austin's favorite look this season is "Gala." |
Austin's favorite look?- "Gala" because he loves the glamour and sophistication and not to mention the detachable train. Many of the looks were alterable including pieces such as detachable veils for volume, like the petal veil which became the first veil I ever tried on.

Austin says that the most rewarding part of being associated with Project Runway is the international response he has received from his fans. Austin says he receives many letters from all over the world and LOVES IT!
Overall Austin Scarlett - one of our favorite Project Runway stars - is in a very happy place and plans to keep expanding and continuing to doing what he loves... and guess what's coming?! ... An Austin Scarlett studio visit this summer. See you soon!
Thanks Austin Scarlett for a fabulous day.
