Sunday morning at Grand Central Station I'm excited and about to walk into the Austin Scarlett Bridal Show for Fall 2015. Austin knows elegant while also taking fun and comfort into consideration. An array of rotating models told me so as I watched them easily move with a grace and a personality that was illuminated by each dress. The dress presentation was in the clear style of a Scarlett show- with a great big nod to Gone With the Wind...his all time favorite. The first time Austin watched Gone With The Wind he was twelve years old and he watched it straight through, "so now that I am somewhat a part of it, -this is a dream come true for me and it's like coming full circle because it (Gone With the Wind) was my ultimate. That first time I watched it, I was like This. Is. It."
Austin
Scarlett's dresses will enchant you because the thought and
craftsmanship instantly make the garments attractive, theatrically eye-catching yet soft and glowing. One to remember is the off-the-shoulder
"Charlotte" (remember Austin names his dresses) a ball gown with a draped
bodice and lightly gathered skirt that couldn't be forgotten even if
tried. Dress "Belle Reve" is the dress Austin and I have taken our photo
in front of. She s strapless and has a drop waist and is made almost
entirely of silk organza. For Austin, Belle Reve is his favorite but out
of all thirteen looks, my personal favorite from the show is"Georgia" a
silk a line gown with a rise and fall hemline- a peep to the left leg.
(Photo of sketch below.)
There
were thirteen looks and six models. Each model rotated into each dress!
This was such a plus for the audience where as in most fashion shows we
see one model in one outfit but here at the AS presentation we are able
to see different girls in all dresses. A little shout out to stand-out
model McKenzie for just simply working it!!- Models were wonderful
showing how wearable and easy it is to move in those dresses, having fun
which infected the rest of us.

Scarlett is a valid player in the bridal game because his clothing
brings something out from within, his work allows consideration of all
styles. Austin Scarlett is fresh and creating a new elegance that truly
matches our current culture. Another must mention was the sea foam green
off the shoulder sleek and simple gown, called "Rhett"...which brings
me to this question- would you ever consider wearing a colored dress on
your wedding day? Three seasons ago Austin Scarlett's finale piece was a Cotton Candy Pink ball gown, yum.
Also
who was there but friend and fellow designer Anthony Williams! We all
know and love Anthony and it was so great to see him there giving a
little help to a friend. It always does come back tenfold.
Today
overall was a very successful day for the bridal industry and for
Austin Scarlett. BPR always wishes you well Austin Scarlett ...why?
Because you are FABULOUS.
